When it comes to Sonic games, speed is a pretty important factor, and that includes framerate. While some Switch games have to make sacrifices and reduce their fps in order to run smoothly, it sounds like that won’t be the case with the upcoming Sonic Superstars.

In a recent interview, Sonic Superstars developer Naoto Oshima shared the good news about the game’s technological capabilities:

Interviewer: Could you give a message to our readers who are looking forward to the release of [Sonic Superstars]?

Oshima: Thanks to everyone who has supported Sonic, I am once again able to be involved in development. [Sonic Superstars] will be released on all kinds of platforms, so please try it out, and you will be able to play at a smooth 60 FPS, even on Nintendo Switch. I hope old fans will be nostalgic for the characters, and newcomers will be able to experience Sonic’s speed.

Nintendo fans should be happy to hear this, as it means Sonic and the gang will be racing along smoothly and beautifully in the Switch version of the game. You won’t have to wait much longer to see for yourself. Sonic Superstars will be available on Switch on October 17, 2023.
