The Game Awards 2023 takes place December 7th, 2023, and we’ve all been waiting to see what games are up for this year’s accolades. Earlier today, Game Awards creator/host Geoff Keighley took to the stage at the Peacock Theater to run down all 31 categories and nominees. As you can probably guess, there’s a ton of Nintendo titles included in the mix, and that goes for Game of the Year as well.

This is the first year I can remember when nothing about the nominee list makes my eyes roll out of their sockets. The continued insistence on pushing esports and influencers kinda does, but that's par for the course. Thanks for competently honoring video games! Now they just have to do it in the actual show.

Holy crap! All the VR nominations are PSVR2 games. My personal favorite of those is RE: Village with ease. The team did an amazing job with the VR port it's just amazing.
Sure hope Sony pushes it more!

Oh! This is a Nintendo site. I have yet to get into TOTK but damn it's getting harder and harder.

My only problem I’ve got is that I feel like TotK should be nominated for audio design too. BotW is one of the games that I hear most consistently praised for its audio design and I feel like its successor deserves recognition too
