Earlier this month, The Pokémon Co. announced the Pokémon Scarlet/Violet ‘Dragon King Battle Qualifier’. This was to be a single battle Pokémon competition running from December 1st to December 3rd, 2023. Now we’ve learned that the event has been canceled because of a glitch which could affect the competition unfairly.

In any given official Pokémon tournament, certain Pokémon are ineligible to be included in players’ battle parties. Unfortunately, players discovered a glitch which allowed them to add Miraidon or Koraidon to their parties, then swap them out for other ineligible Pokémon. As this could be used to gain an unfair advantage over other competitors, The Pokémon Company has decided to scrap the whole thing.

As of now, we don’t know if the tournament will be rescheduled or how long it will take for the glitch to be patched and removed. Stay tuned.

UDPATE: This event has been rescheduled for sometime in mid-January 2024, with specifics to be shared at a later date.
