You may have noticed that Fortnite is having a bit of a moment. With the recent launches of Rocket Racing, LEGO Fortnite, and Fortnite Festival, it seems like the game is more in the spotlight than ever. In fact, the numbers seem to be reflecting that, as the game has just set a new record for most simultaneous live players ever.

Yesterday, Fortnite was host to a total of 6.6 million live players across all the game’s various modes and services. Clearly the new LEGO mode was a huge draw, as that alone held over 2.3 million of those players. This is the highest recorded total since the game began keeping track in March 2023.

What will the next player count milestone look like? Is there anyone left alive who isn’t playing Fortnite these days? We’ll see how future updates and add-ons affect the game as the userbase continues to grow.

Nintendo just looks at this and thinks "time for some Super Shooter bros. instead".
