Speedrunners are always looking to shave time off of a video game’s run however they can. One of the best ways to do this is to skip over whole sections of a game using glitches. Players never did find a way to skip past The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s opening zone, the Great Plateau. However, a method has now been discovered to bypass Tears of the Kingdom’s equivalent area, Great Sky Island.

As detailed by YouTuber Timber in a new video, many glitches and experiments were gone through in order to find a way to make skipping Great Sky Island possible. If you’re looking for a quick, simple solution to the problem, you’re out of luck. The actual method involves the use of several glitches put together in a specific order, and the video takes around 50 minutes to get through everything. During this time, Timber also explains exactly how they came up with the process from start to finish.

If you’d like to follow along and recreate the steps yourself, you can do so by watching the above video. Or, if you’re fine playing through Tears of the Kingdom as it is, just admire the efforts of speedrunners and the ingenuity of today’s Zelda players.
