Ten years ago this month, the great experiment known as Twitch Plays Pokémon first took place online. For anyone not in the know, this is a Twitch stream in which viewers can type commands in the chat that correspond to button inputs in a Pokémon game being livestreamed. As you might imagine, it can get a bit chaotic.

Twitch Plays Pokémon has been going strong ever since, and they’ve just announced the official launch of their 11th season. The season will premiere next Monday, February 11, 2024. Over the years, a “democracy mode” was implemented, which put all user inputs to a vote, making things slightly less crazy. However, for the 10th anniversary, it sounds like they’re going back to their roots and removing any restrictions.

Twitch Plays Pokémon has covered multiple versions of Pokémon, as well as some Pokémon mods. You’ll have to tune in to the premiere of Season 11 to see just where things head this time.
