Nintendo on the difficulty of transitioning between hardware, competition from the entertainment industry, and the importance of integrated hardware/software
Can Nintendo have back-to-back hardware hits?

Nintendo is going to do their best to avoid that situation with the transition away from Switch, and that’s while knowing full well that there are more options for entertainment than ever before.
During Nintendo’s investor Q&A, a question came up about the risks Nintendo faces when transitioning from one platform to another, as well as the competition they face. Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa was very straightforward about Nintendo’s failings in the past, and also acknowledge that Nintendo is competing against much more than just other game platforms.
