Kingdom Hearts “Simple and Clean” music video gets an official 4K restoration (UPDATE)

There are a number of songs from games that stir up emotions instantly in fans, and without a doubt, “Hikari” from Kingdom Hearts is one of them. If you happen to be one of those people who can’t get enough of the tune, you’ll be happy to know you can now experience it all over again in a much-improved way.

The music video for Hikari from Hikaru Utada has been given an official 4K resolution makeover, and it’s available for all to see on YouTube. You can check out the restoration above, which has been released due to Hikaru soon releasing a new greatest hits album Science Fiction on April 10th, 2024.

As you most likely remember, Hikari was the first promotional theme song Hikaru Utada performed for Kingdom Hearts. This song received an English translation as well, which we know as “Simple and Clean.”

UPDATE: Hikaru Utada has just released a re-recording of “Hikari” to go along with the 4K restoration. You can hear Utada’s new take on the tune below.
