Gesshizu: Minna de Chokomaka Muradukuri is headed to Switch in Japan
Chill with a chinchilla!
The Japanese Gesshizu series is receiving a new installment on Nintendo Switch. The game, titled Gesshizu: Minna de Chokomaka Muradukuri, is being developed and published by Nippon Columbia, and right now a release date is unconfirmed. The franchise has seen a number of releases on Nintendo platforms, including one as recently as May 2020. The upcoming release will be a Japan-exclusive title.
Even though we don’t have a release date yet, details on the game itself have been announced. The information can be seen below, as provided by Gematsu:
Build Your Own Village
The game begins when Chinchilla comes to the Gesshizu’s village. The player will cooperate with the Gesshizu by watching over them, plotting their fields and homes, and allocating them various work.
Help Out the Gesshizu
Give the Gesshizu commands and they will work, eat, and craft. Since they each have their own strengths, weaknesses, likes, and dislikes, your village building efforts will move forward as you help them out. It is also extremely cute and healing just to see them working so hard and eating together.
Collect Various Items
By gathering materials and such, the Gesshizu can craft various items. You can also sell the items you craft and buy items that cannot be obtained in the village. The Gesshizu can be outfitted with crafted accessories, and if you create a new facility, you can perform new actions at that facility.
Solve Puzzles and Earn Happiness Points to Obtain Items
When you give the Gesshizu a command, there is a “wait time” until they perform that action. In the meantime, you can establish new facilities on the field, cook up food with new recipes, and even play a “Puzzle Game” to earn “Happiness Points.”
The Puzzle Game’s rules are very simple. Line up two or more of the same tiles (Gesshizu faces) to erase them. A game is cleared when a set number of tiles have been erased. The Happiness Points earned by playing the Puzzle Game can be offered to the Happiness Tree in the forest to obtain rare items.
A New Friend Joins the Gesshizu
The new friend Chinchilla has joined the cast of Gesshizu that appear in the game. Chinchilla is characterized by his white, round body and large tail. He loves building everything and anything, and is good at pestering everyone to get involved in the village building process.
The list of characters includes:
Chinchilla Squirrel (Risu) Porcupine (Yamaarashi) Hamster Octodon (Deguu) Rat (Nezumi) Capybara Rabbit (Usagi) Flying Squirrel (Momonga) Beaver
