The “My Famicase Exhibition” is an annual event (celebrating its 18th anniversary this year) in which artists create masterpieces using Famicom cartridges as their canvas. The 2022 collection became available to view online in April. (It’s also available in book form!)

Until now, this exhibition has never been displayed in the United States. That’s all changing next month, as the My Famicase Exhibition will be officially showcased in Los Angeles, California from July 1st to July 24th. 253 original designs will be on display, made by artists from over 29 different countries. See below for the official details.

The MY FAMICASE EXHIBIT - LA is hosted by CAPSULE CORNER and will be on display as a part of the CAPSULE CORNER pop-up from July 1st - 24th.

Also on exhibit will be the work of Froyo Tam, Mel Haasch and Nelson Wu.

OPENING RECEPTION: July 1 ǀ 6PM - 10PMǀ

OPENING RECEPTION WEEKEND: JULY 2 & 3 ǀ 11AM - 10PM ǀ

REGULAR POP-UP HOURS: 11AM - 5PM

Anyone who visits the exhibition in LA will also have the opportunity to vote for their favorite cartridge, a tradition being carried over from the Japanese version of the event. If you happen to be in the area sometime next month, this sounds like a great visit, whether you’re a Nintendo fan or just an appreciator of great art. Otherwise, all of this year’s cartridges are still viewable online.
