RUMOR: Good-Feel is the developer behind Princess Peach: Showtime!
We've got a Good-Feeling about this
Earlier in the week, a rumor started floating around about a Princess Peach: Showtime! demo getting released. We now know those rumors to be true, as Nintendo dropped that very demo just a few hours ago. While many set out to snag the demo and give it a playthrough, others decided to download the free trial to dig around behind the scenes.
Dataminers have been sifting through the Princess Peach: Showtime! demo code to see what interesting details can be gleaned, and it seems they’ve stumbled on a rather juicy tidbit. Apparently, it seems that Nintendo has once again teamed with developer Good-Feel in order to get the job done.
While the demo’s data doesn’t specifically mention Good-Feel, it does give a codename to the project. That codename happens to be PJ037, which falls in line with previous Good-Feel titles. For example, Yoshi’s Crafted World had the codename PJ033, and Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn was listed as PJ040. Both of those titles, as you most likely know, were created by Good-Feel as well.
Not surprisingly, Nintendo wasn’t willing to confirm or deny these rumors, as a company spokesperson told Eurogamer that the game’s “development team will be credited in the game’s credits,” meaning you’ll have to wait to play the game to find out for sure.

Nintendo of Europe now handling distribution in Saudi Arabia
Taking over for Nintendo of Japan
Nintendo of Europe is now handling all Nintendo operations in Saudi Arabia, including marketing, online infrastructure, and distribution via AIC Trading. Previously, Nintendo’s presence in Saudi Arabia was handled by Nintendo Co. Ltd. in Japan. This news comes to us from NintendoSoup, who reports that the change came into effect sometime in the second half of 2023.
Nintendo customers currently living in Saudi Arabia can expect to see some changes going forward in the way that they purchase and receive games. It seems likely that Nintendo of Europe will implement an improved online distribution system, allowing residents to more easily buy and access download codes for games on the Switch eShop. This would mirror NOE’s actions in other regions such as Israel, South Africa, and Australia.
Outside of Saudi Arabia, the rest of the Middle East is still being handled by Nintendo of Japan, although this could change in the future. We also saw Nintendo France and Nintendo Benelux absorbed into Nintendo of Europe last summer, so it isn’t unusual to see them taking more regions under their umbrella.
We’ll see how this change affects customers in Saudi Arabia throughout 2024, as well as how things carry over to Nintendo’s eventual Switch successor. Hopefully, all developments are positive. Click here for a more detailed breakdown of what this shift could mean.

Octopath Traveler temporarily delisted from the Switch eShop
The path to a new publisher
The original Octopath Traveler came to Switch back in 2018, so chances are those who wanted it have already purchased the title. If you want to go the physical route, you can still do so with ease through multiple retailers. If you’re interested in the digital option, you’re going to need some patience.
Some fans noticed today that Octopath Traveler has disappeared from the Switch eShop. If you visit the game’s page on Nintendo.com, you’ll see that option to purchase has been grayed out and replaced with a “not available” button. If you already own the game digitally, you’ll still see the “already downloaded” button.
Wondering what the deal is here? As you might know, Nintendo was the publisher for Octopath Traveler when it first released, but that deal has now come to an end. This means that publishing duties have now reverted back to Square Enix, and with that comes some behind-the-scenes rejiggering. While we don’t know the return date for the digital version of Octopath Traveler, there’s no doubt it’ll be back soon. Once the game reappears for purchase, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Attorney chimes in on Nintendo Vs. Yuzu emulator battle, says Nintendo has a "real chance to win"
A legal battle for the ages
Nintendo has never been shy about taking legal action against people or products they perceive as infringing on their copyrights. While video game emulation is somewhat of a legal grey area, Nintendo has decided that one emulation service has gone too far. That service is Yuzu, an open source Switch emulator that’s been around since 2018.
In their official statement shared yesterday, Nintendo claims Yuzu has negatively affected their brand, illegally bypassed their software encryption, and caused direct harm to their game sales. Nintendo Switch decryption keys are required in order to run Switch software, and Yuzu points to methods to do so unlawfully. As a specific example of harm, Nintendo mentions that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was leaked online a week and a half early, and was subsequently downloaded over one million times before the game’s official release. (They also point out that the game was spoiled on social media, lessening the game’s impact for some fans.)
Through this lawsuit, Nintendo is aiming to have the Yuzu emulator shut down completely. They’re also seeking damages in return for the aforementioned violations and loss of potential game sales.
Following that bombshell from yesterday, The Verge spoke with Richard Hoeg, a business attorney who hosts the Virtual Legality podcast, to see what he thinks will happen in this case. It’s definitely going to be an interesting one with the potential for huge ripples throughout gaming, and according to Hoeg, he see’s a path to success for Nintendo.
“The important thing is that Nintendo is bringing the case as a DMCA circumvention claim. There is a real chance for them to win as the court ‘tests’ things like the effectiveness of the measure and just how the emulator was created.”
Nintendo is suing the creators of Switch emulator Yuzu
The Big N is putting their foot down
Nintendo has never been shy about taking legal action against people or products they perceive as infringing on their copyrights. While video game emulation is somewhat of a legal grey area, it seems Nintendo has decided that one emulation service has gone too far. That service is Yuzu, an open source Switch emulator that’s been around since 2018.

Through this lawsuit, Nintendo is aiming to have the Yuzu emulator shut down completely. They’re also seeking damages in return for the aforementioned violations and loss of potential game sales.
It remains to be seen whether or not this lawsuit will be successful in the long run. The courts may not agree with Nintendo on every point, but it could be enough to scare off the Yuzu creators from continuing to share and update their emulation software regardless. Nintendo has announced that Pepper Grinder is coming to the Switch on March 10, 2024. A free demo will be available later today via the Nintendo eShop. Stay tuned for more info.
Pepper Grinder is a high-speed platformer with wonderfully satisfying drill-based movement, lush pixel art, oddball enemies and challenging platforming—and you can finally experience it for yourself when the game launches on PC and Nintendo Switch on March 28. You can also download the Switch demo on the Nintendo eShop right now, or try a demo of the PC version on Steam.
Developed by solo swashbuckler Ahr Ech and published by Devolver Digital, Pepper Grinder’s blisteringly fast-paced piratical platformer stars a treasure hunter named Pepper who uses her drill, Grinder, to swim through the earth as a dolphin swims through water.
After a freak storm tears Pepper’s ship apart, she washes up on the dangerous shores of a mysterious island and finds a group of narwhal-like creatures—a band of bilge-sucking buccaneers known as the Narlings—making off with her precious treasure.
But a chance encounter with the aforementioned Grinder gives her the power to fight these thieves head-on. Pepper embarks on a quest to retrieve her stolen booty, drilling her way across the island to recover her filthy lucre and show the Narlings—and their mysterious leader—why you should never mess with someone wielding an oversized power tool.
Pepper Grinder is an electrifying blend of tight platforming, chaotic action, brain-twisting environmental puzzles and unique drill-based traversal, and you can take Grinder for a spin on March 28 when the game whirrs onto PC and Nintendo Switch.
