Scrapped customization options for Splatoon 3 discovered

Splatoon 3 certainly offers a ton in the way of customization, letting players outfit their characters in all kinds of gear, but it seems Nintendo originally had even more planned for self expression that got cut.

Dataminers have gone digging through Splatoon 3 to see what the source code hides, and they’ve unearthed some customization options that didn’t make it to the game. This includes new facial features, such as freckles and scars.

While these features didn’t make it into the game, dataminers have gone so far as to implement them in the customization feature set to show them off. You won’t be able to use these in game, of course, but now you can see what they’ll look like on character faces. Check out the Twitter thread below for multiple examples.
