Independent games publisher Versus Evil in partnership with Breadcrumbs Interactive announced today that its darkly funny action role-playing game Yaga has launched ‘Roots of Evil’ DLC on Switch for $9.99 / €9.99. Previously available on PC, the DLC introduces console players to a new biome, the Corrupted Forest, with new creatures and bosses, as well as new folklore figures, including Kuma Lisa the trickster fox, the Trinket Kid, and Gigi the Loan Shark.

In ‘Roots of Evil’, Ivan will make use of new crafting opportunities, weapons and new magic items to help him on his new quest. Players will also get access to a new tool, the Pickaxe, used both for combat and exploration as well as two new metals for crafting, a new set of enhancements and other items.

In addition to today’s new Roots of Evil DLC, new monsters have also been added to the base game as well, namely Spider Mother and Spiderlings. For those players that suffer from Arachnophobia, there is an option to replace them with a mythical goat mother and goat kids. This is topped off by various balancing and improvements to the combat and exploration of the base game of Yaga as well.
