VTubers, virtual YouTubers that use a puppeted 3D anime-style model as their likeness, have become a cultural phenomenon over the last few years. Today, developer CyberStep has announced that they’re developing a visual-novel based around the former AXEL-V member and VTuber, Kurune Kokuri, who is known for producing content of the ASMR variety. The game, with the English placeholder title “Welcome Kokuri-san,” will be released for Switch next winter.
Although it’s been confirmed that Welcome Kokuri-san will be playable in Japanese, English, and Traditional Chinese languages, it’s unknown if the visual-novel will be published outside of Japan.

Welcome Kokuri-san is a visual novel starring the VTuber Kurune Kokuri. The story is fully voiced, and will include scenes with realistic ASMR voices, so you can enjoy the scenario “as if you were there.”

What is ASMR?
ASMR stands for “Autonomous sensory meridian response” and refers to pleasant sounds that stimulate a person’s hearing senses. Since ASMR is commonly recorded with special equipment, it can make you feel as if the voices are next to you, allowing you to become more immersed in the story.
Who is Kurune Kokuri?
Kurune Kokuri is a VTuber who was inadvertently summoned through the Japanese Ouija Board “Kokkuri-san.” Surrounded by her favorite games and delicious food, she is happily enjoying her modern life.
She is active on YouTube, live streaming games and songs with a focus on slow and soothing ASMR!
