The 2023 Game Developers Conference or GDC will feature a special panel with Shinya Kumazaki and Tatsuya Kamiyama discussing the Kirby series’ first 3D title, Kirby and the Forgotten Land.

For those unaware, Kumazaki has been the general series director for the Kirby series since Kirby: Planet Robobot, and Kamiyama was the director for Forgotten Land specifically so they both should provide fascinating insights.

The panel will provide a discussion on how the developers brought Kirby into 3D and the games’ new features such as mouthful mode.

The panel will also discuss the upcoming Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe and how the developers rethought the multiplayer and world of the original Wii game.

The Panel will be held during GDC 2023 in San Francisco this March 20th-24th, if you are a game developer and are interested in attending you can follow the link at the bottom to try to register.

It’s rare for Nintendo series to allow a peek behind the curtain so this panel is very promising. We will keep you updated on any interesting tidbits that drop when this panel is held.
