Publisher eastasiasoft details 10 Switch titles due out Spring 2023

Today, publisher eastasiasoft premiered an “Early Spring 2023 Showcase” that covers 10 indie titles scheduled for release in March, April and the first half of 2023 on Switch. This presentation continues the previous showcase format and once again consolidates news on multiple projects for convenient reference in the months ahead.

Highlights of this showcase include the further details on cult classic JRPG Mugen Souls, an official release date for Omen of Sorrow on new platforms, shoot’em ups LASERPITIUM and Gravitators, two new ZOO Corporation games in the popular Pretty Girls series and much more!

MUGEN SOULS - APRIL 27TH, 2023

Join Chou-Chou on her mission to conquer the universe and its seven worlds! In this anime-style JRPG, you’ll take command of trusty companion Altis, loyal peon Ryuto and more, as Chou-Chou turns the heroes and demon lords of each world into her personal servants and thus frees the universe of conflict under her ultimate control. But will it all go as planned?

Mugen Souls features turn-based combat on a free-roaming battle map, party and skill customization, expansive worlds to explore, and plenty of that “moe” aesthetic fans adore! Destroy crystals on the battlefield to activate Hyper Mode, execute combos and use Moe Kill techniques to enslave enemies, transforming them into items by exploiting their weaknesses. Create a unique cast of minions by customizing body parts, facial expressions, job classes, and more!

This updated version of Mugen Souls includes all prior extras while faithfully adapting the content of the Japanese original, making it the definitive way to experience this cult classic JRPG!

OMEN OF SORROW - MARCH 23RD, 2023

In a hidden underworld ruled by creatures of the night, a new terror has awakened! Omen of Sorrow brings monsters of horror, literature and mythology together for a fighting game experience unlike any other. Inspired by numerous arcade classics but offering its own unique innovations and mature aesthetics, Omen of Sorrow positively bleeds style!

Featuring a roster inspired by such icons as Frankenstein’s monster and Egyptian high priest Imhotep, this traditional 4-button fighting game rewards or punishes players based on how aggressive their playstyle is, putting a skill-centric spin on combat while keeping the experience accessible to newcomers. Powered by Unreal Engine 4, Omen of Sorrow’s 2.5D brawling spans a multitude of detailed locations with handcrafted animations and cinematic finishers, all set to a masterful soundtrack by composer Francisco Cerda.

As a special addition to this updated release for Xbox One, the previously downloadable bloody countess Erzsébet now joins the main roster, alongside a massive blood dragon at her command. PRETTY GIRLS BREAKERS! PLUS - MARCH 2ND, 2023

Classic brick-breaking action goes bigger and bolder in Pretty Girls Breakers! PLUS. In this classic arcade-style action puzzler, take the role of a twin-tailed fighter wielding a beam saber. You’ll have to strike incoming balls with precision to destroy block patterns above you, all while avoiding enemy attacks and collecting power-ups to gain the upper hand!

Across dozens of challenging stages, you’ll need to adapt to new blocks and enemy types, strategizing to clear them from the field without losing all of your hearts or running out of time! As stages are cleared, your female companions’ outfits will gradually change. If you succeed in battle, new outfits will be revealed and unlocked for viewing anytime in the powered up Dressing Room, now featuring the customizable diorama mode!

TRICKY THIEF - MARCH 15TH, 2023

Get ready for a stealthy spin on tile-based sliding puzzles as you navigate the brainteasing chambers of Tricky Thief!

Take the role of a slippery burglar as you hug the walls of each room and collect coins while outwitting the patrolling guards across dozens of top-down single-screen stages presented in charmingly minimalistic 3D style.

Can you figure out the most efficient way to tackle each situation to become a master thief?

RUNBEAN GALACTIC - MARCH 29TH, 2023

Step into the shoes of RunBean, an astronaut who landed on a hazardous planet that tries its best to kill the intruder! Try to delay your inevitable fate by running around the diminutive 2D globe, jumping over spikes, sliding under killer platforms, collecting bonuses and quickly reacting to sudden direction changes! The longer you stay alive, the higher your score will climb and the more envious the next poor space travelers visiting this planet will be.

PRETTY GIRLS TILE MATCH - APRIL 6TH, 2023

These Pretty Girls are no stranger to mahjong solitaire, but this new version freshens up the action puzzling with a skill-based game of match-3! Instead of pairs of tiles, here you’ll need to find 3 identical tiles to erase them from the board, while layers of trapped tiles beneath are darkened and “locked” until you uncover them.

Meet 5 lovely female companions as you play and earn points to unlock new adorable outfits for them across a whopping 120 stages, all featuring unique tile layouts and randomized patterns that pose a tough-but-fair challenge! Then head to the enhanced Dressing Room mode where you can view unlocked outfits and assemble your own custom dioramas!

MOE WAIFU H - APRIL 21ST, 2023

Meet 5 lovely bachelorettes and impress them with your rhythm and sharp reflexes! Moe Waifu H is a simple and addictive rhythm action puzzler where your goal is to match your target icon at the bottom of the screen to the incoming heart, star, bolt or diamond icons that fly in from the top and sides of the screen. Match them before they touch the target, and your score will climb. Fail to match them and you’ll lose hearts!

As you clear each stage in Moe Waifu H, you’ll get closer to your chosen female companion, revealing more intimate outfits and unlocking tougher challenges. Each girl is voiced, and their expressions change in reaction to your gameplay, so don’t let them down! Can you unlock all of their cute outfits and win them over?

NEKO RESCUE TALE - APRIL 26TH, 2023

A little kitty’s friend has gone missing, and it’s up to you to guide the frisky feline to rescue them! Presented in side-scrolling pixel art style, Neko Rescue Tale is a traditional action platformer where you guide a heroic cat through seasonally themed stages filled with enemies, traps, pitfalls and more. Run, jump and always land on your feet!

LASERPITIUM - 2023

In 2357, leaders of the galaxy S-08G signed a peace and cooperation treaty. In order to optimize the management of goods, the control of military forces and the well-being of the population, the computer program EVA was created on the artificial planet HELOS. A few years later, the EVA program’s governance caused social unrest across the galaxy. Military forces, now fully automated, directly attacked any attempt at rebellion.

Now a group of resistance fighters aims to restore freedom to the planets. Their mission is to attack EVA’s military bases and annihilate HELOS. LASERPITIUM is a side-scrolling 2D shoot’em up with multi-directional scrolling and parallax presented in hand-drawn HD graphics. Take control of one of three ships, each with a unique playstyle, and blast through enemy swarms across 10 cosmic stages of arcade-inspired action!

GRAVITATORS - 2023

Old-school challenge and style collide with modern advancements and mission design in Gravitators, a twin-stick shooter that puts you in control of 4 different ships as you defend mankind against invasion! Complete a vast array of mission types as you travel to Earth, the Moon, asteroids, planets and exoplanets, the depths of outer space and even black holes! Explore to unlock hidden objectives and rewards, but always be mindful of which power ups will serve the mission at hand.

Inspired by genre classics, Gravitators holds to the basic principles of maneuvering through tight spaces while carrying heavy objects, fighting enemy spacecraft and preserving fuel. Each ship you pilot changes the experience with variations in thrust, rotation and combat strategy, while gravitational forces and environmental factors threaten to slow you down or bring your mission to a crushing end.
