As with any Zelda title before it, Tears of the Kingdom is set to introduce all kinds of new features and mechanics that are sure to wow Zelda fans. What exactly can we expect from Tears of the Kingdom? Nintendo isn’t saying specifically just yet, but the game’s producer just revealed a rather tantalizing tease.

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom won Most Anticipated Game at the Famitsu Game Awards, and producer Eiji Aonuma was on-hand to accept the award. Aonuma gave a short-but-sweet acceptance speech, and part of it teased some world-changing gameplay for the title.

In the sequel, Tears of the Kingdom, furthermore, the players free imagination will be filled with new gameplay that will bring about changes to the game world.

Sounds like the player will have some ability to potentially raise or drop Sky Islands. We’ve seen footage of pieces being “reversed” so maybe that’s just scratching the surface.

Dropping or raising large chunks of landmass would definitely reshape what we know of the Hyrule landscape from BOTW.
