1993 Super Mario Bros. movie sees a big boost in sales

There’s no doubt the Super Mario Bros. animated movie from Nintendo and Illumination is boosting all things Mario, including sales of multiple games. What Nintendo might not have expected was rising sales for Mario’s original silver screen debut as well.

Believe it or not, the 1993 live-action Super Mario Bros. movie is currently seeing a major boost in sales online. The movie has rushed straight to the top of the DVD charts on Amazon, quickly landing at #1 for the Action/Adventure, Fantasy and Comedy genres.

All of this excitement for the classic film might have something to do with the price being dropped to $3.74 on Amazon, but there’s no doubt the price was lowered to coincide with the animated feature making its debut. Either way, now two Mario movies are big hits with audiences!
