Nintendo announces Golden Week Sale an Mario Movie campaign for Japan

Golden Week in Japan kicks off May 3rd, 2023, but Nintendo is getting in on the fun early with a host of special sales and opportunities.

Nintendo’s Golden Week sale will run from April 28th (12AM JST) to May 7th (11.59PM JST), and it features a host of discounted Switch eShop titles. Here’s a look at some of the discounts available to customers:

• Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker – 3 064 Yen (instead of 4 378 Yen; 30% off)
• Luigi’s Mansion 3 – 4 604 Yen (instead of 6 578 Yen; 30% off)
• Yoshi’s Crafted World – 4 604 Yen (instead of 6 578 Yen; 30% off)
• Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze – 4 604 Yen (instead of 6 578 Yen; 30% off)
• Persona 5 Royal – 5 374 Yen (instead of 7 678 Yen; 30% off) [NB: no English!]
• HARVESTELLA – 3 840 Yen (instead of 7 680 Yen; 50% off)
• Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star – 6 142 Yen (instead of 7 678 Yen; 20% off) [NB: no English!]
• THEATRHYTHM FINAL BAR LINE – 5 104 Yen (instead of 6 380 Yen; 20% off)

Along with this, Nintendo is running a special campaign on the My Nintendo store in Japan. Customers will be able to buy select pieces of Mario merch at a discount if they’re purchased alongside Mario Switch games at the same time. If you buy the games mentioned above at participating retailers, you can also get a set of Mario movie stickers!

Finally, select malls with movie theaters in Japan are running a special event where customers will have the chance to play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Maker 2 and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury. Those who stop by to play some games will get to take home a Mario-branded sun visor.
