All the way back on April 27th, 1992, Game Boy players were treated to the introduction of Kirby with Kirby’s Dream Land. While Kirby didn’t have his signature copy ability in that outing, the game was enough of a success to warrant a sequel. From there on out, Kirby continued to garner an incredible fanbase, and now he’s bigger than ever 31 years later.

Nintendo and HAL are celebrating Kirby’s 31st anniversary with a special piece of art that you can see above. In the art, Kirby can be seen hanging out with Meta Knight, King Dedede, Bandana Waddle Dee, and Magolor. Looks like differences have been set aside in the name of an anniversary party, and more importantly, cake!

HAL shared a message along with this anniversary art, and you can read a machine-translated version of the message below.

Kirby was very active in the 30th anniversary. We have made many wonderful memories with all of you! Please keep reporting on your adventures!
