Did You Know Gaming deep dives into Russias's bizzare and unofficial Pokédex
Ever wondered the political views of your favorite Pokémon?
Did You Know Gaming is back with another Pokémon deep dive, this time into the incredibly bizarre and unofficial Russian Pokédex.
From Diglett bombing cars with loud alarms to Meowth’s wicked political schemes these books on the original 151 paint the world of Pokémon in a much different light to anything we’ve seen before or since.
While this may seem like a bizarre topic for DYKG to cover, this book was actually the main way many Russian kids learned about the Pokémon outside of what was presented in the games. Obviously, as time went on official translations came, but that doesn’t change the fact that these books hold important historic significance to Russian Pokémon fans.
The video, which is linked above, goes into further detail on the circumstances that birthed this bizarre piece of Pokémon history and if you’re in need of a good laugh we highly suggest giving it a watch.
