Sonic Origins Plus' new content comes via download code in the physical release

Were you planning on grabbing a physical version of Sonic Origins Plus? If so, some news that popped up today might have you reconsidering.

Thanks to an image that shows off the back of the physical box for Sonic Origins Plus, we now know that the extra content included in this package won’t actually be on the game card. If you go the physical route, the content from Sonic Origins will indeed be on the game card, but all the bonus goodies that make this release worth of the ‘Plus’ moniker will have to be downloaded.

To be specific, this means that the new playable characters and 12 Game Gear game won’t be included, and you’ll need to use a code to download the content. Certainly not the best option for those interested in a physical release.
