Production on the show has had to halt at least twice due to members of the staff contracting COVID-19, and the last delay is still going on now. The good news is that delay is coming to an end soon.
The team behind NieR:Automata Ver1.1a has confirmed that the series is finally set to return on July 23rd, 2023. The good news is that final four episodes are all locked in, so the show’s first season will finally play out in full.
With each delay, the team behind the anime has apologized for the delays and various issues. With this announcement, the team shared yet another apology, but are happy they can finally give patient fans what they’ve been waiting for.
