Anyone who’s been to Nintendo NY over the years has no doubt seen the Gulf War Game Boy. The Game Boy, seen above, had been caught in a bombing in the Gulf War back in 1990-91. Despite the charred outside, the Game Boy itself kept ticking, which led to it being displayed at Nintendo NY.

Some eagle-eyed Nintendo NY fans recently noticed that the Gulf War Game Boy was nowhere to be found, which led to fears that the portable had finally given up the ghost. Thankfully, that doesn’t appear to be the case.

When asked about the Game Boy’s whereabouts, a Nintendo NY employee mentioned that the Game Boy had been shipped back to Nintendo’s headquarters in Redmond Washington. It looks like the portable’s active duty has come to a close, and it’s finally going to get some much-deserves rest!
