Everybody 1-2-Switch! isn’t exactly a game you want to play alone, but if you can get together a big group of family and friends, it can be a pretty fun experience. Nintendo obviously knows that, which is why they’ve started hosting special events for the title at Nintendo NY.

Today marked the very first Everybody 1-2-Switch! game night at Nintendo NY. Nintendo actually hosted two different sessions to gather players together for a bunch of silly fun, and you can see how it all played out in the video above.

While we don’t know for sure if Nintendo NY will be hosting more of these events, there’s no doubt some store visitors will be down to join in on the party.

tested the game online even if it has no online mode, kinda fun that way even if some parts really dont work due to online lag. The minigame where you take a photo of a certain color in 20 seconds is fun that way though.

Long ago, Nintendo NY (actually Nintendo World Store since this is WAY back) would hold a bunch of different game nights and similar events. The most notable were “Pokemon Trainer Sundays” and the Friday Kid Icarus Uprising tournaments. Unfortunately those seemed to go by the wayside as the 2010’s rolled on, aside from occasional Saturday tournaments for the more competitive Switch games. Granted, it’s a challenge to hold fan gatherings given the limited space in the store and the fact that it still needs to be comfortable for the NYC tourist crowd (and whatever Rockefeller Center policies the store has to abide by). I’d encourage anyone in the area to show up and support these kinds of events, even if it’s for a game you might not normally take interest in. It would be nice to see more of these in the future.
