Pokémon Co. discusses Ash's journey coming to an end, and the start of Pokemon Horizons: The Series

It’s somewhat of a bittersweet moment in time for Pokémon anime fans right now. There’s plenty of excitement for what’s ahead, as Pokémon Horizons: The Series is making its debut later this year. Unfortunately, that means Ash and the gang are finally riding off into the sunset. As one door closes, another opens, as they say.

To talk about the end of the Pokémon anime as we know it and the start of Pokemon Horizons: The Series, IGN had the chance to talk with Pokémon Co’s Andy Gose (Senior Director of Media Production) and Hilary Thomas (Senior Producer). While the two weren’t ready to reveal tons of behind-the-scenes detail, we do get to hear quite a bit about wrapping up Ash’s journey, as well as the fresh animated start for Pokémon going forward.
