Pokémon news round-up: New merch, Pokémon Café menu revamp, and a manga series

A bunch of Pokémon-related tidbits have popped up today, and they all pertain to Japan. Rather than putting together individual posts for each, we’re lumping all of them into a Pokémon round-up!

Pokémon Peaceful Place manga

The Pokémon Company has started sharing quick manga features as part of Pokémon Peaceful Place, a new “serene and tranquil” brand that features Pokémon in cute settings. These manga feature Pikachu, Rowlet, Piplup, and Espurr taking on various activities in their daily lives. You can snoop through the various manga here.

Pokémon Café menu revamp

Pokémon Café locations in Japan will be getting some new menu items starting Sept. 2nd, 2023. The star of the show is the new Pikachu Plate, now featuring curry rice and the three Kanto starters. You can see a rundown of all the new items on the way below.

2023 Pokémon World Championships merch

Pokemon Co. has shared a new range of merch for the 2023 Pokemon World Championships. Pokémon Yogibo Huggers

Finally, the Pokémon Company and Yogibo have announced officially licensed Yogibo Huggers, and the line is set to debut with Ditto and Snorlax options. These Huggers will arrive in Japan starting Aug. 4th, 2023, and they’ll be available via the Pokémon Center Online store.

These Yogibo Huggers are bead cushions that you can snuggle up and relax with. Each Yogibo Hugger is priced at 39,000 yen, which works out to roughly $276.
