Not-for-sale "Directer's Cut" version of Vampire Survivors spotted

Vampire Survivors is finally making its way to Switch on August 17th, 2023, but ahead of that release, a very odd version of the game has been discovered.

Videogame journalist Laura Kate Dale has shared the reveal of Vampire Survivors: Directer’s Cut, which she had the chance to check out at a recent hands-on event. This version of the game appears to be wildly different from the version that currently exists and is heading to Switch in a few weeks. The “Directer’s Cut” name comes from a hidden final boss in the game. (h/t VGC)

Vampire Survivors: Directer’s Cut features new characters, stages, weapons, accessories and evolutions. Some of the new characters include a multi-limbed angel, a rose woman, an imp, Santa, werewolf, spaceman, big skull, constellation frog angel, and winged egg.

The most frustrating thing about this Directer’s Cut version is that it’s apparently not-for-sale. Not even Laura Kate Date knows why she was chosen to see the game or why it was being demoed. This entire project is wrapped in mystery for the time being, but we’ll keep digging for more info. Keep fingers and toes crossed that this is viral marketing for an eventual release!
