Yokai Watch 4++ has been officially released in China

Yokai Watch 4++ is now officially available in China, the game was released on August 2nd, 2023, and it’s currently only available digitally for the Nintendo Switch systems distributed by Tencent. A physical release will be available in the future.

Priced at around $31, this version of the game will include all the major content updates that were released in the Japanese version and is rated 16+ under China’s rating system, which is a bit higher than the Japanese version.

There are some design changes in the game to comply with China’s censorship laws. For example, as reported by Chinese Nintendo, Yokai Blizzaria’s clothes have been changed to cover her chest completely. Another change is a boss that originally had a human body now changed to a humanoid robot.
