There are plenty of Famicom games that got localized releases for the NES, but there seem to be an equal amount that never left Japan. With these games now decades old, it’s pretty clear the original devs/pubs have no plans on releasing them in English. That’s when fans jump in to tackle the work themselves.

The latest example of this is Dai Kaiju Deburas, which has gotten an English fan translation as Giant Monster Flaburas. This is a strategy game in which the Earth Defense Force guides a giant egg to safety while a giant monster emerges from the sea with the mission to destroy the egg before it could hatch. Brace yourself for riffs on kaiju films, spandex heroes, and alien spaceship attacks in a battle for the ages!

If you’d like to learn more about the team that’s translated Giant Monster Flaburas or you want a closer look at the game itself, you can find the full details here.
