Comparing Super Mario Bros. Wonder's Mario/Luigi voices to Charles Martinet

We’ve known for a couple of weeks now that Charles Martinet was stepping down from the mic and will no longer be lending his talents to the world of Mario. This means someone else is tackling the voices of Mario and Luigi, and today we get to hear a decent amount of their work.

While we still don’t know what voice actor or actors are taking up the mantle from Charles Martinet, we now have a much better idea of what they sound like. Thanks to the Super Mario Bros. Wonder Direct earlier today, we now have a lot more footage to work with.

The video above takes various clips from Super Mario Bros. Wonder that feature Mario and Luigi talking, and then compares them to Charles Martinet’s previous work. There’s no doubt there’s a difference, but it seems like the actor/actors behind Mario and Luigi now are paying tribute to Martinet’s work.
