After literally decades of waiting, LIVE A LIVE finally saw an official localized release outside of Japan thanks to an HD-2D Switch remake. RPG fans in Japan have known for a long time now just how great this RPG was, and now the rest of the world has had a chance to experience its splendor.

Believe it or not, today marks the 29th anniversary of LIVE A LIVE releasing for the Super Famicom in Japan. It’s crazy to think so much time has passed since the original title graced us with its presence, and Square Enix is recognizing this occasion with a special bit of art.

The artwork above gives us a brand-new illustration of Pogo and the crew by designer Kenta Kamada. Fun fact: In Japanese, 29 can be read as “ni ku”, and “niku” is the same sound as 肉, which means “meat” in Japanese!
