Blizzard has banned 250k cheaters from Overwatch 2 since launch
This one's for the heroes out there
The sad fact of the matter is that any online game is going to have cheaters. From the day a game is released, the developer is in a battle with cheaters who are out to ruin the experience for legitimate players. That’s been the case with Overwatch 2, but Blizzard has been very proactive about stopping those cheaters in their tracks.
While there’s certainly still cheaters who’ve gone undetected in Overwatch 2 so far, plenty of them have been squashed so far. In a new dev blog, Blizzard has revealed that they’ve banned over 250k cheaters from Overwatch 2 since the game launched. The game hasn’t even been around for a year yet, so that’s a considerable amount of cheaters to take care of in a rather short amount of time!
Blizzard went on to say that they are continuously refining their anti-cheat detection and prevention systems to strengthen the game against cheating and botting. Your reports help Blizzard identify new cheat programs as well as cheating players, so they ask that you please keep reporting!
