While the Super Mario LEGO sets have been mostly marketed and targeted towards children, the Nintendo and LEGO partnership has also dabbled with more complex builds such as the 2,064-piece Nintendo Entertainment System and the 2646-piece Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block. Both of those sets were rated 18+ due to their building difficulty, and if a recent retailer listing is to be believed, another Super Mario build for adults may be on the way.

Although the listing has since been shut down, German toystore Wagner’s briefly had an active webpage for “71411 Super Mario 18+” - priced at €229.99 with a 2,807 piece-count. The release date was set for October 1st, 2022, but it’s likely that this was just a placeholder. No images or further details were shown, so what this possible new LEGO set could entail is anyone’s guess.

Currently, the only officially confirmed slated Nintendo LEGO set is the Peach’s Castle expansion coming on August 1st, 2022. We’ll have to wait and see if the rumors of a new 18+ set are true.

I was able to snag the Question Mark block set earlier this year and had a lot of fun putting it together (and it looks really awesome too). I wouldn’t mind another complex Mario universe one but what I really want is something from a different franchise. Give me a Hyrule Castle set on-par with the Hogwarts castle sets that already exist. Or give me a Samus ship set. There are already about a thousand Star Wars ship sets.

I was hoping for some erotic Peach set before I read what 18+ actually means in this context.
