Mortal Kombat 1 on Switch isn’t the worst port we’ve seen come to the platform, but it certainly leaves a lot to be desired. From stuttering framerates to glitchy graphics, missing content to audio lag, the game suffers from a considerable amount of hiccups. Thankfully, we now know that these problems will be taken care of.

Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon has commented on the sad state of Mortal Kombat 1 on Switch, and he says fixes are on the way. Not only that, but fans can expect continued support down the road for the Switch version, as Boon and the team have no plans on abandoning Switch players.

You can see Boon’s full statement on the matter below.

(Mortal Kombat 1 on Switch will) absolutely be getting an update and a number of the the concerns of the issues that had come up will absolutely be addressed. It would have been ideal for us to have released the version that we absolutely wanted. But anything that we’re finding a problem with is on our list and is going to be fixed.

…it will be supported, like we did with Mortal Kombat 11. Anything that we see that is not acceptable will absolutely be addressed.”

Notice the phrasing "a number". I'm sure glitches will be fixed but a large amount of the criticism is aimed at the visuals. Those aren't going to get better unless the Switch magically gets more powerful. Ed Boon can pledge whatever he wants but it doesn't change the fact that they falsely advertised. They showed the Steam version and claimed it was the Switch version. That's not going away.
