When EA Sports FC 24 was announced for Switch, many thought it would be a reskin of the previous year’s FIFA game, just with different branding and logos. That was quickly followed by shock when EA revealed that this would be a brand-new installment built from the ground-up for Switch, complete with feature parity.

It’s great to know that EA finally decided to put some extra effort into their yearly Soccer releases for Switch, albeit out of necessity through the change from FIFA to FC. Either way, we’re getting a better-than-ever version of EA’s flaghship series on Switch, and now we know the technical side of things.

Doru Logigan, Line Producer on FC 24, spoke to IGN about the what Switch owners can expect from this outing when it comes to framerate and resolution. As it stands, FC 24 on Switch runs at 30 frames per second, and resolution sits at 720p in handheld mode and 1080p in docked mode.

Logigan said that the move to the Frostbite Engine has helped FC 24 on Switch in a multitude of ways, and it’ll also make it much easier for the team to dish out updates. Again, FC 24 on Switch is at feature parity with other versions, and Logigan confirmed that fans can look forward to patches that include bug fixes, quality of life improvements, and also live campaigns in Ultimate Team, Volta and Clubs throughout the season. In other words, expect FC 24 on Switch to be treated just like the other platforms.
