Samoa control map revealed for Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 will see its seventh season arrive on October 10th, 2023, and it’s sure to introduce a host of new content. Ahead of the season’s full reveal, Blizzard has just revealed one of the new maps players can look forward to.

Announced via X, a new piece of artwork has revealed a Samoa map that will debut in Season 7. This will be a map for the Control mode, and we’ll get to see a full run-through of what this map has to offer on October 1st, 2023.

While we wait for those details, fans are already speculating that this map is tied to Mauga, a new Overwatch hero. That could be spot-on speculation, as Mauga is a Samoan word that means “mountains,” and the one image we have of the Samoan map showcases a massive mountain in the background.
