Give the sticky a lil flicky
Masahiro Sakurai is back with yet another video in his game development series, and this one focuses on the ‘Designs Specifics’ category.
According to Sakurai, the Nintendo 64 gave him his first chance to develop games using an analog control stick. Not only could you move the stick in any direction and tilt it to varying degrees, you could detect the speed of said tilting!
As you no doubt know, stick inputs in the Smash Bros. series are a major part of character control. From Smash attacks to light tilts, the pressure you apply to the analog stick makes an incredibly big difference in your output.
