Nintendo improves on carbon reduction in 2022
Heading in the right direction
Following a pledge to reduce their carbon emissions, Nintendo has followed through and done just that, according to a 2022 report.
AfterClimate has released their 2023 report that looks at the game industry’s C02 emissions, and the latest report covers what companies managed in 2022. This report shows that Nintendo did indeed improve their carbon emissions, landing them in the top 3 of the report.
Tencent, Apple, Nintendo led the pack for drops in carbon emissions, with Tencent dropping 13.73% year-on-year, followed by Apple with a 11% drop, and then Nintendo at 2.95%. All companies pledge to continue these efforts, so hopefully we see an even bigger drop from Nintendo in next year’s report.
