Harry Potter fans have been waiting a long time for Hogwarts Legacy to arrive on Switch. There were numerous delays and setbacks, but it seems the most recent release date info is still in play. The game is set to arrive on Nov. 14th, 2023, and today brings us our very first look at how the Switch version is shaping up.

To be completely honest, the situation surrounding Hogwarts Legacy on Switch was strange right from the get-go. We only found out the game was heading to Switch thanks to a listing on the game’s website. No other trailers or promotional materials made any mention of a Switch version, so seeing a listing on the official site was quite a surprise. This led many to believe it was a mistake, but surprisingly, the info was spot-on.

Following a confirmation of a Switch version from the game’s community manager, fans were quick to wonder if Hogwarts Legacy would be a cloud version of the game. Surprising fans once again, the developers confirmed that the Switch release would be a native port and not a streaming release.

Following that whirlwind of news, a lot of patience has been required of Switch owners. There’s been next to no information about what the Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy has to offer, but we certainly got details on release dates missing their mark. Hogwarts Legacy on Switch has been pushed back a couple of times now, but thankfully the wait is almost over.

Now that we finally have the first official screens of Hogwarts Legacy on Switch, the game is feeling much more real. The same goes for the release date, so I guess we’ll be playing this title in just a matter of weeks. Will the wait be worth it? We’ll keep fingers and toes crossed until launch, but today’s batch of screens certainly gives some hope.

I played Hogwarts Legacy months ago. A Switch port seems downight silly to me, but I imagine it has potential to sell like crazy. Hopefully WB treats this better than they treated the MK1 port. The long wait makes me think they are.

Huh, the images here actually look pretty nice. Textures look way muddier than the other console versions, but that's to be expected.

Performance would be the biggest thing I'd worry about though, especially in the open world and busier areas. Hoping those who pick it up have a good experience!
