Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 is out now on Switch, and with it comes a deluge of Metal Gear Solid-related news. We’ve got some info on the game side of things, but there’s also some interesting MGS merch topics as well! First up, let’s talk about what’s going on with MGS’ bread-and-butter, videogames.

It’s kind of a worst-kept secret that Konami is going to release Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 at some point. We all know it’s coming, even if Konami is pretending no such project exists. Today, with the launch of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, dataminers have more evidence than ever that Vol. 2 is on the way.

Dataminers have gone digging around Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 and found mentions of titles not included in the package. In particular, references to Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Solid 5 and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker were discovered. (h/t VGC) Now, nothing is official until Konami says so, but why else would these games be mentioned in Vol. 1’s source code if there weren’t plans for another collection?

Next up, we’ve learned that apparel retailer Uniqlo is reprinting a series of classic Metal Gear Solid t-shirts that originally launched back in 2019. (h/t VGC) The series of reprints will include six designs, and they’ll arrive sometime in January 2024 in Japan. These shirts will be sold as part of the UT Archive range, and there’s no word on if they’ll make it out worldwide.

Last but not least, an official Metal Gear Solid cologne has been revealed, and it’s up for sale right now.

Experience the thrilling world of espionage and secret operations of the Metal Gear Solid universe with ‘Shadow Moses’, a unisex fragrance that transcends the ordinary.

Taking inspiration from the game’s legendary setting, this unique cologne opens with the crisp freshness of handpicked mushrooms and forest soil, and evolves to reveal a heart enriched with aromatic scents that take you on a sensory journey, transporting you to the captivating and complex landscape of Shadow Moses Island.

If you need to know what MGS smells like, you can pick up a bottle of this cologne for $50 through Just Geek.
