Risk of Rain showcase celebrates Risk of Rain Returns' launch, talks Risk of Rain 2's "Seekers of the Storm" expansion and "Survivors of the Void" release

Celebrate everything Risk of Rain with news, announcements, and what’s next for the franchise in the 10th-anniversary showcase above. Plenty of news and reveals were shared for what’s next with the Risk of Rain franchise, and we’ve got the complete breakdown for you.

Gearbox is excited to announce the second expansion for Risk of Rain 2: Seekers of the Storm! In this video, you’ll hear from our loremaster Kayla Larson, Associate Art Lead Claire Bian, and Managing Director of Production James Lopez. They will give you a first look at the mysterious False Son.

Gearbox also introduces day and night variants of maps for the first time. These give players a new way to experience a familiar location, introducing new flavor, specific props, and new areas to explore!

Seekers of the Storm will bring a lot of new content to Risk of Rain 2, such as new Survivors, new levels, new monsters, and more! Keep an eye out for future Dev Thoughts for more information.

Risk of Rain 2: Survivors of the Void, the game’s first expansion, is available now on Switch. This expansion features two Survivors—the skillful markswoman Railgunner, and the eldritch monstrosity Void Fiend—and the endless Simulacrum game mode, as well as new items, stages, and more.

Risk of Rain 2 has also received a free, substantial overhaul of the core game for all players on consoles, future-proofing the title for faster bug fixes, performance improvements, and more content across platforms.

Risk of Rain Returns is now available on Switch! Carefully designed, beautifully remastered, and loaded with new ways to play—Risk of Rain is back and better than ever! This remake of the classic Risk of Rain packs enhanced visuals, an updated codebase, and tons of new content.

No two runs in the iconic roguelike are the same, and that has never been truer. Risk of Rain Returns bring new and enhanced Survivors, customizable Survivor abilities, fresh items, monsters, and a brand-new game mode. The game’s difficulty increases the longer you play, so prepare to fight through hordes of enemies that threaten your continued existence, collect and combine items to enhance your abilities, and scale your power to godlike levels.

Many Survivors fled the mysterious attack on your ship. Forge new paths to explore with 15 unique Survivors, each with new abilities to master. Two entirely new Survivors are making their debut in Risk of Rain Returns.

Only one player is required to own Seekers of the Storm to enable the expansion for the whole lobby. Players without Seekers of the Storm will be unable to select the new survivors or permanently unlock new items, logbooks, or other content.

Prepare for an expedition deep into Petrichor V’s lost regions! Ancient Lemurian temples and crashing waterfalls lead the way across new stages. Explore the caverns and take in the suspicious smell of strawberries in [REDACTED]. Fend off scores of Lemurians within their Reformed Altar. Or drop into the lush green canopy of the Treeborn Colony.
