Mortal Kombat 1 launched on Switch and all other platforms Sept. 19th, 2023, giving it less than 2 months on the market. While 6+ weeks isn’t a lot of time to be on sale, that’s been more than enough for the game to reach an impressive sales stat.

Confirmed during a Warner Bros. investor briefing, Mortal Kombat 1 is nearing the 3 million sold mark. Warner Bros. didn’t share a specific sales figure, but there’s no denying the 3 million sales milestone is quite impressive for the franchise. We also don’t have a platform breakdown of sales, so we don’t know how many units moved on Switch.

More gamers are sure to flock to Mortal Kombat 1 in the coming weeks, as a number of additions through DLC will no doubt raise the game’s profile. The next character joining the roster is Invincible’s Omni-Man, who will make his public debut on November 16th, 2023.
