Nilfgaard’s quest for dominance isn’t the only thing growing on the Continent. The Witcher universe is getting a little bigger in 2024 with the upcoming animated film The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep.

Fans got their first look at the new movie during Geeked Week 2023 — and the clip revealed some familiar voices lurking within its murky depths. One of those is courtesy of actor Doug Cockle, who voices sword-swinging hero Geralt of Rivia in video game The Witcher 3, and will now voice the White Wolf in The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep. Plus, a couple stars from The Witcher live-action series are also coming along for the watery ride.

Geralt of Rivia, a mutated monster hunter, is hired to investigate a series of attacks in a seaside village and finds himself drawn into a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople. He must count on friends — old and new — to solve the mystery before the hostilities between the two kingdoms escalate into an all-out war.

The Witcher 3 voice actor Cockle will take another swing at Geralt in Sirens of the Deep. “I am super excited to announce my return to the world of The Witcher voicing Geralt of Rivia once again,” Cockle told Netflix. “I’m thrilled to be able to share this next chapter of the White Wolf’s journey with fans of the Witcher universe. Mire taedh aen stráede!”

It’s confirmed The Witcher stars Anya Chalotra and Joey Batey will also reprise their roles as Yennefer of Vengerberg and Jaskier for the animated movie. The Witcher universe newcomer Christina Wren will voice new character Essi Daven.

The film is written by The Witcher series writers Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin and produced by The Witcher showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich. Author Sapkowski serves as the creative consultant.

Kang Hei Chul, who served as a storyboard artist on The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, is the flick’s director. Speaking of that previous The Witcher animated feature, The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep comes from South Korean animation studio Studio MIR, who was also behind Nightmare of the Wolf, as well as The Legend of Korra and Voltron: Legendary Defender.
