Ex-Rockstar North dev asked to take down blogs on GTA III, Vice City

Ex-Rockstar North technical director Obbe Vermeij has found himself in quite the whirlwind situation in the last 24 hours, and worst of all, he never saw it coming.

Vermeij hasn’t been at Rockstar North in quite some time, but he did put in a number of years with the company when they were working on some major games in their catalog. In particular, Vermeij spent years helping the company craft titles like Grand Theft Auto III and Vice City, which means he’s got some insight into each game that the public would love to hear.

Vermeij decided to share some behind-the-scenes details on how both of those Rockstar classics came to be, and word quickly spread far and wide to diehard fans the world over. Unfortunately for Vermeij, word also made it to the powers-that-be at Rockstar North, and they were none too pleased to hear what Vermeij was up to.

In a new blog post from Vermeij, he reveals that Rockstar North reached out to him to share their displeasure for his blog posts. Rather than dig a deeper hole and face potential legal troubles, Vermeij has since removed the blog posts.
