Five Nights at Freddy’s started breaking records at the box office right out of the gate, when it became production studio Blumhouse’s biggest opening weekend of all time, as well as the biggest debut for any movie on Halloween.

Following that, Five Nights and Freddy’s was named Blumhouse’s highest grossing movie in the studio’s history. This meant it surpassed Blumhouse’s previously highest grossing film, M. Night Shyamalan’s Split, which made $278.5 million over the course of its theatrical run.

As of today, Five Nights at Freddy’s has pulled in an even bigger accolade. The film has achieved a global box office total of $300+ million, which gives it the honor of being the biggest horror film of 2023. For those wondering, the previous recorder-holder for horror movies in 2023 was Scream VI.
