Epic is the parent company of a handful of developers, Psyonix being one of them. Psyonix is the team behind Rocket League, and they’re also very much involved in the brand-new Rocket Racing experience that launched in Fortnite today. Some fans saw the release of Rocket Racing as cause for concern for Rocket League’s future, but Pysonix has stepped in to assuage fears.

The official Rocket League X account shared a statement today on the future of Rocket League, and it appears there’s still plenty more in the works. Psyonix has made it very clear that Rocket Racing does not signal the end of Rocket League in any way, shape or form. You can see the developer’s full statement on the matter below.

Hey all - let’s talk about the game we love, Rocket League.

The same team that has been supporting Rocket League is still cranking on updates coming to Rocket League in 2024, both the core game and RLCS. It’s a bit too early to share details, but expect more news on that in the new year 🚀

Rocket Racing is not replacing Rocket League, and we’re excited to grow these games side-by-side with cross-game vehicle ownership between them.
