The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will forever be one of the most important installments in the franchise, if not the most important. Even though the Zelda series has come a very long way since there, there are still elements of Ocarina of Time that are alive and well in modern Zelda titles. Without a doubt, Ocarina of Time is an absolutely crucial entry in Zelda’s history, and gaming history in general.

Nintendo has re-released Ocarina of Time a handful of times over the years, through platforms like the Virtual Console and more. They even did a remake of Ocarina of Time for the 3DS, which gave the game a visual overhaul and more. That said, the 3DS remake came out quite some time ago, and plenty of people would like to see Ocarina of Time back on the TV screen and with even better visuals.

How does Nintendo feel about the idea of a Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake? Game Informer spoke to Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma to find out. While no one expected Aonuma to actually share details or plans on what’s next for Zelda, did laugh in response to the question, and then playfully followed up by saying, “No comment!” Take that at face value or read into it however you want, because no matter what Nintendo says, the speculation will always continue.

I'd love one... but it would need to be a serious remake, not just bigger textures and more detailed models. I'd love to see voiced characters, a more detailed map, and more things to do.

They've got random people in Unreal Engine trying to remake the game. Show them how it's done, Nintendo!

Seconded. "What if the graphics were better?" isn't enough of a reason. Needs to be an outright reimagining. More Metroid: Zero Mission and less...well, the last OoT remake.

We already got a remake of Ocarina of Time! That's why he laughed at the question.
