Suika Game came out of absolutely nowhere to be a juggernaut on the Switch eShop. The game is still topping the charts week to week, topping huge-name games like Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Super Mario RPG and more. This has helped the game near 5 million units sold in just a couple of months, and it shows no signs of stopping.

Unfortunately, whenever anything ends up being successful, nefarious parties look for a way to make a quick buck. That’s exactly what’s going on with Suika Game right now, as fake merch has started to pop up in Japan. The situation has gotten so bad that Aladdin X, the developer of the game, has had to share a statement.

Aladdin X has hopped on social media to let their fans know that fake Suika Game merch is starting to appear around Japan. That includes crane games/claw machines like the one above, which is stuffed to the gills with unofficial Suika Game watermelons. Aladdin X has told fans that the only official Suika Game merch out there right now are stickers and clear folders. If you see anything else Suika Game related in the merch department, it’s 100% unofficial.

Aladdin X has not shared whether they’ll be releasing more official Suika Game merch like plushes or anything else. Should they reveal those plans, we’ll be sure to let you know.
