New round of cut content from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 discovered

Sonic the Hedgehog fans are known for going above and beyond when it comes to history and lore. I don’t know what makes Sonic fans as dedicated as they are, but it’s a beautiful thing to see. That dedication often leads to incredible discoveries, and today just happens to be one of those days.

The Video Game History Foundation has turned their attention to Sonic the Hedgehog 2, an entry in the long-running franchise that is already legendary for the amount of cut and beta content discovered. You’d think fans have discovered every last bit of content left on the cutting-room floor by now, but it turns out that’s not the case.

In the video above, you get to see yet another round of footage revealing more lost stages from Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Obviously, these stages run the gamut in terms of completion, with some being extremely early and others being somewhat far along. Still, the end result was the same for all of them, but at least they get to live on through this video!
